About Us
We are a team of people dedicated to bridging the gap between aspiring volunteers and organizations & causes in need of their help. Our goal is to enable people to serve the causes they care about and strengthen nonprofit organizations in and around Grand Rapids, MI.
Our Board

Samuel Jacobs, Administrative Director
Samuel manages day to day scheduling and leadership of Officium|616 Service. He works with individuals, companies, and nonprofits to increase volunteerism in Grand Rapids. He graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2022 with a BS in Public Administration, and will graduate in 2023 with a Master of Public Administration.

Through our research, we’ve learned that there are plenty of people out there who want to volunteer their time & their resources, but for whatever reason, they’re not doing it. Maybe they think they don’t have the time, or can’t find an opportunity that fits their schedule. Perhaps they just moved to the area and don’t know much about the work being done in their city. Or maybe they’re passionate about making a difference in their community, but they can’t find an organization that needs their skillset.
We want to remove those barriers. We believe volunteers are essential, and there’s not many nonprofits who would disagree. We want to take the burden of recruitment away from those organizations and find their volunteers for them.
Our Pillars
Our Pillars serve as guiding ideas for where we want to make the most impact through service.

Our History
Officium|616 Service began as a grassroots response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on businesses and nonprofits in West Michigan. Our community was hit hard. As we look ahead to a future without COVID-19, our team believes in the need for continued volunteer support in the Grand Rapids Community.
